{"id":96,"date":"2014-06-09T00:45:13","date_gmt":"2014-06-09T00:45:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theorthopractice.com.au\/blog\/?p=96"},"modified":"2016-08-16T01:43:53","modified_gmt":"2016-08-16T01:43:53","slug":"marshmallow-slice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theorthopractice.com.au\/blog\/marshmallow-slice\/","title":{"rendered":"Marshmallow slice"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>250g packet Marie biscuits<\/li>\n<li>185g melted butter<\/li>\n<li>395g can condensed milk<\/li>\n<li>finely grated zest and juice of 2 lemons<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon gelatine, dissolved in \u00bc cup water<\/li>\n<li>1 cup sugar<\/li>\n<li>5 teaspoons gelatine<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon vanilla essence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Step 1.<\/strong> Grease and line a shallow 18x28cm baking pan. Process the biscuits in food processor until crushed. Add butter, pulse until combined. Spoon into the base of the pan, chill until set.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2.<\/strong> Combine condensed milk, lemon zest and juice. Add the dissolved gelatine, spread over base and chill until set.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3.<\/strong> Mix sugar and 1 cup water in saucepan. Sprinkle over gelatine, stir to dissolve and let mixture boil. Reduce heat, simmer 7 min. Cool slightly, beat with electric beaters until fluffy. Spread over lemon layer. Chill overnight or until set. Cut into squares with knife dipped in hot water.
