what is invisalign®? 

Invisalign® is one of the most revolutionary advances in orthodontics in the past 50 years and is the invisible new way to straighten teeth without braces. It enables teeth to be straightened using a series of custom manufactured, removable, clear appliances called ‘aligners’. These are almost invisible and gradually straighten teeth without metal or wires. Invisalign® means patients can undergo orthodontic treatment in a manner that is almost undetectable and does not impose in any major way on a patient’s everyday lifestyle.

Invisalign® was launched in Australia in February 2002 and the ortho practice is certified and trained to use Invisalign® for their patients. Worldwide, there are over 200,000 patients either successfully treated or in treatment, and the number is growing.

Does Invisalign® really work?
Yes. In both clinical research and in dental and orthodontic practices, Invisalign® has been proven effective at straightening teeth.

How much does Invisalign® cost?
As with other types of orthodontic treatment, the cost of Invisalign® is heavily dependent on the complexity of a patient’s case.

Because medical benefits differ significantly from policy to policy, each patient should review their coverage.

How long is the treatment time?
An average Invisalign® course of treatment takes about a year. You’ll see your Invisalign® certified orthodontist or dentist every 6 to 8 weeks for adjustments and to check progress. At regular intervals, you’ll receive a new set of custom-moulded clear aligners to continue the straightening process. The total number of clear aligners is specific to you, determined by your doctor for your course of treatment.
