Dr Theodor Baisi
BDS MDSc (Syd)
Theo completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Master of Dental Science (Orthodontics) from the University of Sydney and worked with the highly respected orthodontists, Dr J F Reading and Dr D J Bradley. After a number of years, Theo acquired the business and set about developing it further as a practice of excellence and distinction.
In 2001, The Ortho Practice was born and it continues today with Theo enjoying great results for all patients with his energetic and fun personality. As well as operating this highly regarded private practice, Theo’s devotion to his profession has led him to hold a variety of teaching positions at the University of Sydney. Over the years he has lectured and tutored at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, maintaining his educator role today as Appointed Lecturer (part-time) Discipline of Orthodontics.
Theo is also an active member of the greater orthodontic community, holding many titles including a number of years as President of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, NSW Branch. He is now the Treasurer of the Australasian Orthodontic Board and Treasurer Elect of the Australian Society of Orthodontists (National).
Dr Caronenchai (Chai) Jankulprasut
BDS MDSC (QLD) HONS
Chai completed his training as a Doctor of Dental Science (Honours) at the Prince of Songkla University (Thailand) in 1995, and holds a Master of Dental Science (Orthodontics) from the University of Queensland Dental School (2002).
Chai started his career as a General Dentist at Donsak Public Hospital in Thailand, before becoming General Dentist/Head of Dental Department at Watyannasangwararam Public Hospital and Senior General Dentist at Phyathai Sriracha General Hospital.
Chai’s orthodontic experience spans over a decade. He was a Clinical Orthodontist at the Oral Health Centre at the University of Western Australia from 2002 to 2005, and has been in specialist practice since returning to Sydney in 2006.
In addition to providing treatment, Chai has participated in instructing both undergraduate and postgraduate students in dentistry and dental hygiene. He also contributed to clinical research and the development and implementation of clinical management strategies and programmes at the Oral Health Centre at the University of Western Australia.
As well as bringing considerable dental and orthodontic experience to The Ortho Practice team, Chai is also fluent in Thai, Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
Dr Serina Ma
BDS Hons (Syd) DClinDent (Ortho) FRACDS
Serina completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Honours) in 2004 and a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Orthodontics) at the University of Sydney in 2012. Her Doctoral research focused on the problematic condition, Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, and she is keen to specialise in this at the ortho practice.
Serina served as a dentist in the Royal Australian Air Force, having been inducted as a Flight Lieutenant and commanded the dental section at RAAF Tindal in the Northern Territory. Following her military career, she worked with rural indigenous communities in the NT and Bourke, in private practice and as a clinical tutor (part-time) at the University of Sydney in the Oral Dental Surgery Department.
Serina was awarded Fellowship into the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the general dental stream and Membership in the specialist orthodontic stream. She has completed her certification of the Australian Orthodontic Board in recognition of her high standard of clinical work.
Serina enjoys running and travelling off the beaten track.
Dr Gustavo Vivaldi
DDS MDSc (Brazil)
Dr Vivaldi completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2001 and his Masters in Orthodontics in 2004, both in renowned institutions in Brazil. He opened his private practice in 2001 and operated it successfully until 2013 when he moved to Australia with his family. Dr Vivaldi was delighted to recently be granted his dental registration in Australia and is in the process of pursuing his Australian orthodontic registration.
Since qualifying as an orthodontist in Brazil, Dr Vivaldi has undertaken further Post-Graduate studies, which include a Mini-Residency in Orthodontics at the University of Michigan, as well as a residency in Dental Implantology. He has over 12 years of orthodontic experience. In addition to practicing orthodontics, he has spent the last 8 years treating patients with complex Invisalign® cases, achieving a prominent position within the Invisalign® community in Brazil where he has become an Invisalign® presenter, including undertaking a position as a visiting teacher at the State University of Maringá in the Masters of Orthodontics program. In 2012, Dr Vivaldi was invited to visit the primary Invisalign® facility in Costa Rica, and shortly after that he founded the first study group in South America in this field. Dr Vivaldi holds the following memberships: World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO), American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), Brazilian Association of Orthodontists (ABO) and Australian Dental Association (ADA).
Dr Vivaldi is a proud father of two beautiful children and enjoys exercising, dining and wine.
