Dr Theodor Baisi

Theo completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Master of Dental Science (Orthodontics) from the University of Sydney and worked with the highly respected Orthodontists, Dr J F Reading and Dr D J Bradley. After a number of years, Theo acquired the business and set about developing it further as a practice of excellence and distinction.
In 2001, The Ortho Practice was born and it continues today with Theo enjoying great results for all patients with his energetic and fun personality. As well as operating this highly regarded private practice, Theo’s devotion to his profession has led him to hold a variety of teaching positions at the University of Sydney. Over the years he has lectured and tutored at both under graduate and post graduate level, maintaining his educator role today as Appointed Lecturer (part-time) Discipline of Orthodontics.
Theo is also an active member of the greater orthodontic community, holding many titles including a number of years as President of the Australian Society of Orthodontists, NSW Branch. He is now the Treasurer of the Australasian Orthodontic Board and Treasurer Elect of the Australian Society of Orthodontists (National).

Professor M Ali Darendeliler

Ali completed his training in Dentistry at the University of Istanbul, Turkey and his PhD at the University of Gazi, Turkey. His career includes time at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, as a Clinical Instructor and Research and Post Graduate Coordinator. He also held the titles of Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina and a Research Professor at the University of Southern California in the United States of America.
Since his arrival in Sydney in 1996, Ali has enjoyed the role of Professor of Orthodontics, lecturing locally, nationally and internationally on early interceptive and preventive treatment in dental and orthopaedic discrepancies, management of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, management of interdisciplinary and orthognathic surgery cases, the use of magnets and magnetic forces in orthodontics and orthopaedic problems, orthodontic tooth movement and orthodontic root resorption. Ali is often called upon to treat those patients with demanding special needs.
Ali is a member of numerous dental and orthodontic societies, as well as being on editorial boards and referee to a number of Australian and international journals.

Dr Caronenchai (Chai) Jankulprasut

Chai completed his training as a Doctor of Dental Science (Honours) at the Prince of Songkla University (Thailand) in 1995, and holds a Master of Dental Science (Orthodontics) from the University of Queensland Dental School (2002).
Chai started his career as a General Dentist at Donsak Public Hospital in Thailand, before becoming General Dentist/Head of Dental Department at Watyannasangwararam Public Hospital and Senior General Dentist at Phyathai Sriracha General Hospital.
Chai’s orthodontic experience spans over a decade. He was a Clinical Orthodontist at the Oral Health Centre at the University of Western Australia from 2002 to 2005, and has been in specialist practice since returning to Sydney in 2006.
In addition to providing treatment, Chai has participated in instructing both undergraduate and postgraduate students in dentistry and dental hygiene. He also contributed to clinical research and the development and implementation of clinical management strategies and programs at the Oral Health Centre at the University of Western Australia.
As well as bringing considerable dental and orthodontic experience to the ortho practice team, Chai is also fluent in Thai, Mandarin, Cantonese and English.

Lynn Matheson
|
Lynn joined the ortho practice team in February 2009 as a Hygienist. Lynn obtained her Certificate of Dental Therapy from Shellharbour School of Dental Therapy in 1981and her Diploma of Dental Hygiene from Torrens Valley Institute, South Australia in 1997.
Originally from Wollongong, Lynn spent several years working in various rural areas of NSW as a qualified & dedicated Dental Therapist before working for many years in a busy Orthodontic practice.
Lynn’s interests include swimming, hiking, reading and an avid following of the Australian cricket team. She also has a passion for art, history & travel.

Marianna Giaouris

Marianna joined the ortho practice team in December 2009 following the completion of a Bachelor of Oral Health Degree at the University of Newcastle. Prior to starting her degree she worked for seven years as a Dental Assistant, completing her Certificate III in Dental Assisting, Certificate IV in Dental Radiography and Certificate IV in Oral Health Education.
In 2011, while continuing in her position as Hygienist at The Ortho Practice, Marianna accepted the additional position of Invisalign® Treatment Co-ordinator: a role that allows her to apply her extensive patient-care and skills to ensure that every Invisalign® patient receives the highest level of care and support during their treatment.
In her leisure time, Marianna can be found spending time with her niece and nephews, and indulging her artistic side through her photography. She also loves being with her friends, travelling and working out at the gym.

Yvonne Bass

Yvonne joined the ortho practice team in June 2009 in the role of Hygienist. Originally from Canada, Yvonne earned her Diploma in Dental Hygiene from The George Brown College of Applied Art and Technology in Toronto 1993 and completed the Australian Dental Hygiene examination for overseas-trained dental hygienists at Torrens Valley TAFE in South Australia in 2006.
Yvonne has extensive experience in general dentistry and orthodontics, and has worked as a Dental Hygienist in both Australian and international practices.
In her free time, Yvonne loves playing with her son, going for a run and heading to the beach to enjoy surfing, windsurfing and scuba diving. She also loves travelling and exploring new places.

Alicia Pattey

Alicia joined the ortho practice team as a Hygienist in March 2011 after completing a Bachelor of Oral Health Degree at the University of Sydney in 2010.
During the six years she worked as a Dental Assistant in Sydney, Alicia discovered her passion for providing high-quality patient care – and she continued to gain invaluable experience in reception, clinical chair-side duties and oral health promotion by working within a private dental practice while completing her university education.
Alicia is passionate about drawing, painting, and designing and creating her own custom-made jewellery. She also has a great love for the great outdoors, athletics and having fun with her family and friends.
